Beer News – Tasting Event at Billy’s

Billy’s Soho’s @ Southridge will play host to a beer tasting event on Monday, May 18.  Proud Eagle Distributing will be providing free samples of three Starr Hill brews.  Aside from the comfortable facility, Billy’s is contributing appetizers to accompany the beer. 

The beer tasting event runs from 6-9 Monday evening.  There is no charge for the event.

If you’d like to make an evening of it, don’t forget that you could also order dinner from Billy’s full menu.  We recently celebrated Fork You’s first birthday at Billy’s and enjoyed salmon quesadilla, grouper tacos, filet, create-your-own pasta and boca-mozarella bites.  And, of course, plenty of $1 draft beers!  Everything was fresh and delicious. 

Don’t be surprised if you see some of our crew Monday night.

Fork You is about to turn one year old and we want you to join us for a Meet-Up to mark the occasion.

The nice folks at Billy’s are willing to host us on Tuesday, April 21 beginning at 6:00 pm and lasting ’til Ron runs out of $1’s.  He’s been saving up, so we may be there a while.

News – Game Day Specials at Billy’s

Here’s the skinny on the specials during March Madness at Billy’s tonight and tomorrow:

We reported the possibility of some specials during the basketball tournament at Billy’s.  Here is the announcement for Friday’s game.  (Click on the image to see it larger.)

They will open at 2:00 for the 3:00 game and the specials begin at 2:00 also.

Does anyone recommend another location to watch the game?  Fill us in by commenting below!  Do you think our bosses will know something’s up if a bunch of people sudddenly get sick at lunch on Friday???

Billy’s Closes

As reported today in the Charleston Daily Mail, Billy’s Restaurant located near Southridge Center is closing, effective today.

Ron Says…

Billy’s ~ when I heard this place was opening from reading the various articles in the local papers, I couldn’t wait to come here.  I think if you’ve read my previous reviews or comments of Mr. Sohovich’s establishments, well you know I’m not that impressed (but we also know I have no “culinary credibility”).  I just don’t get what all the hype is.

Blossom ~ yeah I can’t say I’ve ever had a bad meal there, but I have never had what I’d call a great meal either.  Same with Soho’s, of which I used to work just down the street, it’s good, but it’s over priced.  These are my opinions, and obviously both of these places are doing something right for someone, or else they wouldn’t be in business today.

But when I read that he was moving into the old Smokey Bones building out Corridor G with something that’s going to be HOME COOKING or as my mom calls it “COMFORT FOOD”, well needless to say I was chomping at the bit to come here.
