So Nice to See You Again…

Readers report to us that Billy’s has reopened.  Occupying the same location in the Southridge shopping mecca, they are once again serving up food and drink but from a different menu.  One reader told us he enjoyed a $2 draft beer there.  Now that’s a price Ron can get behind!  We will pass on more details as we obtain them.

An article appearing today in the Daily Mail says Billy’s doors have been open about about two weeks.  Under a new name: Billy’s Soho’s @ Southridge, will serve filet mignon and oysters Rockefeller in addition to old favorites like chicken & dumplings.

Check it out, in its new & improved finery, from 4-10 pm Monday through Friday, noon – 10 on Saturday and noon- 9 on Sundays.

Prohibition Ends…

You can finally get a not-so-virgin margarita at Cozumel Mexican Restaurant.  The perfect accompaniment to a plate of chilaquiles, this Ashton Place eatery now serves margaritas with tequila.   I recommend the Mexican Flag enchiladas for dinner or the Shrimp Enchiladas with tomatillo sauce lunch special.

Say Goodbye To…

Closing its doors in the Teays Valley area is Pancho’s Mexican Eatery.  There is now a for sale sign sticking out of the ground right next to the shrub that was trimmed into the shape of a cactus.  I have two coupons in my Entertainment ’09 coupon book that are going to go to waste now.

Bigger Digs…

The C Gallery in Hurricane is relocating from the plaza near Mid-Valley Mart to the former Teays Valley Floral down the road.  They will be re-opening soon.

  1. I would love to do a Billy’s write up…I took pics too. Oh and Ron? They have $1 Cold Trail Ales and Senecas during happy hour.

Are your Pancho’s coupons limited to that location? Unfortunately, that hole is a local chain. Several of them exist throughout Mason and Jackson Counties, unless they too have went under.

Possibly more recon on Billy’s $2 beers tonight. I’ll update you if the food is any good. So far I ate a salad cloned from soho’s (good) and several fried appetizers. Their batter is good, none of it was frozen, but nothing to write home about. I will try one of the non-soho’s entrees if I can get out there.

Didn’t make it back to Billy’s. No news on the $2 beers.

Anyone else know any places in town with reasonably priced drafts and a selection that isn’t just “what shade yellow would you like your pee”?

  4. FYI: I hear the Jamaican restaurant is now open in South Charleston.
