It’s New Year’s Day. The beginning of 2009. I am watching Food Network (I know you aren’t surprised) and they are advertising upcoming episodes which all have a healthy theme – even Paula is airing a light & healthy episode soon. The Wal Mart ads I’ve seen today tell me that I can be “healthy and pay less at Wal Mart”.  Even Ron has re-ignited his exercise regimen and skipped his usual bag of chips and pint of french onion dip.

I’ll admit, I bought a ticket for this bandwagon, too.

A Call To Action: Equal Treatment for Ketogenerians!

With all the special treatment vegetarians are receiving these days, including a day named in their honor, (not that there’s anything wrong with that), I began wondering:  why am I, a practicing ketogenerian, not treated the same?  Why aren’t restaurants adding special items to their menus for me like they do by sticking “tofu-this” and “tofu-that” on the menus for vegetarians?

Rachel Has A Winner! – Creamy Spaghetti Primavera

I love to cook and I love to read cookbooks, cooking magazines, surf cooking websites and blogs, talk about recipes, you name it.  If it has to do with food, I’m all over it.  One of several, I have been subscribing to Everyday with Rachel Ray.  As soon as I receive the new issue, I flip through every page anxiously looking at the photos of the dishes and scanning the recipes.  If it looks like something I’d like to try, I dog-ear the page.  In one of my first issues, I discovered a recipe that is one of my absolute favorite pasta dishes ever.  Ever, I say!
